German Press Hopeful BRITISH "WILLINGNESS” (Received 9, 11.40 a.m.) LONDON, April 8. The “Sun-Herald” News Service says: Mr. Neville Chamberlain’s statement in the House of Commons regarding colonies is hailed by the Germa* Press as proof of Britain’s willingness to return mandates, The London correspondent of the German newspaper “Angriff” writes: “Mr. Chamberlain’s statement shows that the return of mandates is a matter for the very near future. Britain has abandoned her earlier attitude, and it is now clear that the British public will agree to return mandates, if not enthusiastically, then at least calmly.”
