The managing-secretary of the Manawatu—Oroua Electric Power Board wrote forwarding a copy of a resolution sent to the Minister of Public Works, arising out of the recent conference among power authorities into tree damage. The letter was received, members stressing the necessity for power authorities taking a conciliatory attitude when dealing with land-own-ers in removing trees. Following on the discussion at last month’s meeting, relative to the daybaking of bread and its effect on bakers using electricity, a reply was received from the Minister of Labour stating that the board’s letter would receive full consideration. Authority was given the engineer to inspect regularly the electrical equipment at the Public Hospital, and also to submit a report to* the Waipawa Hospital Board on the re-organisation of the electrical system. A request for K.V.A. supply to the hospital was granted, and the engineer instructed to instal a separate transformer, with separate high tension supply to the hospital, to ensure a safe and adequate supply. Arising out of the engineer's report, Mr Lee was instructed to bring down a report on the cost of installation of another circuit breaker at the sub-station and the closing of the gap between Ongaonga and Ashcott.
