When the New Zealand skiing championships are held at Tongariro National Park next season there will be a strong Australian team competing. Tho Victorian champion skier, Mr. T. W. Norman Walter Jones, aged 42, accountant, faced this morning at the Magistrate’s Court at Greymouth six charges of theft from his employers, Duncan McLean, Ltd., totalling £1227 9/4, during the period 1926 to 1935. He pleaded guilty to all charges and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. Bail was granted in self of £3OO and one surety of £3OO. —Press Assn.

A decision to retain the semi-classic Trentham Stakes and to incorporate it in the programme for the summer meeting was made by the stewards of the Wellington Racing Club yesterday. The race, which will replace the hack five furlongs on tho third day, will again he over a mile, but ti sseason the conditions will include penalties, with a probable maximum of 101 b., arid allowances.
