St. Peter’s Girls’ Club From Our Own Correspondent. WAIPAWA. June 25. I he first meeting for 1935 of the St. Peter’s Girls’ Club was held in St. Peter’s Sunday School last evening, ‘he gathering being in the form of a “kitchen” evening for Miss Isabel Rust and Air George Knobloch, who are shortly to be married. There was » large attendance of members and their
friends, and a very pleasant evening was spent with dancing and games. Alusic for dancing .was provided by Alesdames. Drake and Mita, Miss B. Kingston, Aliss J. Rust and Air Scotty Tawbi, Vocal items were rendered by Misses I. Rust and 0. Carter, and were greatly appreciated, At a suitable interval the Rev. W. T. Diake called upon Miss Rust and Mr Knobloch to open the many parcels, and a varied assortment of useful articles was revealed. Mr Knobloch returned thanks to the members of the club for arranging the evening, and to the many donors for their splendid gifts. A dainty sniper was provided
by tho members of the club, and the gathering was brought to a close with tho singing of “God Save the King.” BRIDGE PARTY. A further bridge party of the series at present being held in aid of the funds of the Waipawa Sports Club, took place in the Oddfellows’ Hall on Monday night The prize in the ladies' section went to Miss E. Limerick. and in the gentlemen's division to Mrs Waefller, A very dainty supper was provided by the members .pf the ladies’ committee. A further of the series will be hold in a fortnight’s tunc.
