The next Sunday night concert will be held in the Hastings Municipal TheHtre on Sunday next, June 36, in •aid of the distress funds.
A special attraction for this occasiiiu. will be the appearance of Miss Gracie Kerr and Mr Philip Whyte, two of the Dominion’s foremost novelty sketch artists and entertainers, presenting the novelty sketch entitled “The Indicator, ’ a very clever act. Mil's Kerr on her previous visits to Hastings has always been a huge success. Since her last appearance she has been successful in winning the title of ehampion of at the recent Wellington National Eisteddfod against all others. The ever-popular Napier Buffalo Lodge Oraliestra will bo heard in a number of old-time numbers. Miss Pat Over will be heard in song-with-dance items. Those ever-popular singers, Mr Wally Ireland and Mr Quarrie, will be heard in a number of popular items; also Mr Nieil Gray in humorous stories. A violin solo will be given by Master David Nevieze and accordion solos by Master Jack Warren. Miss Doreen Murphy will be heard in a number of popular songs. Mrs Wall’s Hawaiian trio will render a number of pretty numbers.
A mystery item will be one of the star - turns of the programme, and is recommended by the organiser as one of the best yet presented. Others will complete a first-class programme of good, clean entertainment. The booking i# now open at Chas. O’Neill’s, hairdresser, Heretaunga street, Hastings. The booking fee is 1/-. Book jour seats now and be sure, as delay caiuses disappointment. Mr Bastin, tho’ organiser, hae done his best to get the best talent available, so a large attendance is expected on Sunday next. 'Hie committee wish to state that it js impossible to provide a first-class entertainment under 1/- for booked scats in the drees circle and stalls. Everything possible is being done to get the best, and during Mr Bastin’s recent visit to Wellington he arranged some excellent programmes for further concerts. The theatre will be heated, and with the good programme arranged a good night will be spent, and at the same time patrons will be assisting to alleviate distress in Hastings.
