Twenty houses were struck by lightning during a violent earlymorning storm at Glasgow. Roofs were torn off and houses set on ftre. Stormwater sometimes .four feet deep drove residents from their homes. A burst water main and failure of the electric light increased the confusion. Fifteen residents of a tenement had barely reached the street when the roof fell in, penetrating three floors.
