GERMAN OBLIGATIONS
Year’s Moratorium Declared BRITAIN NOT AFFECTED (Received 25, 12.30 p.m.) BERLIN, June 24. Herr Schacht has declared a complete moratorium on all maturities arising out of Germany’s medium and long-term foreign obligations for America and other countries with which Germany has no clearing or transfer agreement. The moratorium does not affect British creditors. It will become operative on July 1 for a year. The action is attributed to deterioration in the exchange situation.
