MUSICAL PLAY REHEARSED

The first rehearsal of the romantic musical play “Babette” took place in the tea kiosk at the Hastings racecourse last night. Over 60 singers faced the conductor.

The musical director, Mr. Cedric White, expressed himself as delighted with the quality of the work done, but would welcome some more voices owing to several of the big choruses having to be divii’nd. As soon as the musical work is learned, the movements will be practised. Tbo dancing section, under Miss Jean Ballantine, is well advanced, about 50 performers railing part.
