London Prices Advance LAST WEEK’S QUOTATIONS The London butter market last week continued firm, prices of all butters steadily advancing. New Zealand butter closed firm at 88/- to 90/- a cwt., showing a rise of 3/- over the week and of 8/- since the beginning of June. The retail price of New Zealand butter was increased Id to Ud yesterday. Danish remaining at 1/-, and other butters at 9d. . Deliveries of New Zealand butter last week totalled 1447 tons, compared with 1157 tons a year ago. Australian deliveries amounted to 1377 tons, against 1761 tons a year ago. New Zealand butter in store totals 6175 tons tons, including 1534 tons ex Wairangi, Port Wellington and Rangitata, against 6088 tons for the previous week and 12,198 tons a year ago. Australian stored butter amounts to 8440 tons, against 8385 tons for the previous week and 9470 tons a year ago. The cheese market, which has shown a slight improvement recently, remained steady last week, prices showing a further slight advance. Deliveries of New Zealand cheese last week totalled 26,283 crates, against 20,030 crates a year ago, while the quantity in store totals 168,533 crates, including 18,280 crates ex Karamea and Port Wellington, against 142,254 crates a year ago. Canadian deliveries totalled 3128 boxes, against 7882 boxes a year ago, and the quantity in store was 45,209 boxes, compared with 62,230 boxes a year ago.
