Adjutant and Mrs Neeve, of the Auckland Congress Hall, will arrive at Napier on July 4, to succeed Major and Mrs 11, G. Goffin at the head of the Salvation Army Corps in Napier.
Messrs A. 11. Absolom and L. McLean, the representatives of the Hawke’s Bay A. and P. Society, left this morning to attend the annual conference of the Royal Agricultural Society. Mr. Averill also left to attend the conference on behalf of the Rh.veland Sheep-breeders’ Association,
Mr W. J O’Connell, clerk to the Hawke’s Bay County Council, was the recipient of a handsome silver tea and coffee service which the council, erstwhile members of the council and the staff presented to him this morning. The county chairman. Mr F. B. Logan, made the presentation and said the gift was made by collaborative effort to celebrate in a fitting way Mr O’Connell’s recent marriage, and to mark their appreciation of his services. Mr O’Connell made an appropriate response, and said he felt it nn honour to work for such a body as the County Council.
