LOYAL JUVENILE LODGE

Entertained at Napier On Wednesday evening over 30 members of the Loyal Hastings Juvenile Lodge journeyed to Napier where they had been invited by the Loyal Napier Lodge. The Juveniles were accorded a very warm welcome indeed. Bro. S. Harris and P.P.G.M. Bro. Williamson and Nicholson, of the Napier Lodge, made very welcome and impressive speeches to the young members, who by the look on their faces enjoyed every word. On behalf of the Juvenile Lodge, P.G. Bro. F. Franklin (Hastings) very suitably replied. Sister M. Newrick, president of the Juvenile Lodge, in a very- neat speech, thanked the Napier hosts for the very warm welcome extended, and expressed the hope that a Juvenile Lodge would be commenced in Napier. The presiding officers of the juniors gave a very fine rendering of their ritual, and also of the initiation ceremony, there being one new member initiated, all of which was thoroughly enjoyed by the large assembly, which included visitors from Loyal Meeanee and Clive Lodges. After the meeting concluded, a very fine programme was given by various members of the juniors, after which they were entertained at a very dainty supper.

Members from Hastings accompanying the juniors were Sisters George (2), Sister Clark, Bros. Franklin, Hodges, Farmer and Wakefield. A word of thanks and credit is due to Sister George and Bros. Franklin, Hodges and Wakefield for their untiring attention towards the Juveniles, also to members who made use of their cars for the journey. Following was the programme: Sister G. Adams, Irish Jig; Sister G. Samson, songs; Sister M. Newrick, Russian dance, clog dance and Irish Jig; Bro. Colin Wakefield, songs; Bro. Jack Hodges, recitation; Bro. W. O’Malley, songs; Bro. H. Ellsworth, recitations.
