Appointment of Officers By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 18. Expansion in recent months of the Royal New Zealand Air Force has made necessary appointment of several officers to commissions in that force. The following selections have been made:— General Headquarters, Wellington, Flight-Lieutenant W. Man. Royal New Zealand Air Force base, Auckland: Flying-Officer R. J. Cohen, Flying-Officer C. E. Kay, Flying-Officer A. C. Lester. Wigram Aerodrome, Christchurch: Flying-Officer H. W. Duffey, FlyingOfficer C. C. Hunter. The Minister of Defence stated today that the appointments made would be for a period of five years. The}’ were similar to short-service commissions granted in the Royal Air Force, except that no gratuities would bo paid on the termination of the engagement. The Minister said that officers posted to the Air Force base at Auckland and to Wigram Aerodrome would bo for duty w’ith torpedo bomber flights at those stations. Those flights would be commanded by Flight-Lieutenants M. W, Buckley and 11. B. Burrell respectively, who were already serving with the Royal New Zealand Air Foree. It is expected that further appointments will be made shortly to fill the establishment of torpedo bomber flights, and of the flying training school at Wigram Aerodrome,
