OFFICERS’ INSTITUTE
Formation Proposed in H.B.
MEETING TO BE HELD
An invitation to officers on the Active List and Reserve of units and cadet battalions of Napier and Hastings to attend a meeting at which the formation of an officers’ institute will bo discussed has been issued by Captain A. Bongard, M.C., N.Z.S.C., staff officer in charge of the No. 7 Regimental District. Tho preliminary meeting is to bo held in the Napier Drill Hall at 8 o’clock on the evening of Friday next week.
Some of tho objects of the proposed institute would be to stimulate interest among officers, to keep officers on the Reserve of Officers in closer touch, and to increase military knowledge by lectures and discussions. It is thought that very little expense need be involved. Meetings would probably be held monthly, at Napier and Hastings alternately.
Officers who have already been approached about Hie matter have indicated they are very much in favour of tho suggestion and have promised their support.
