London Quotations APPLES STEADY; PEARS WEAK The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated May 11, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London;— Fruit; Tuscan Star, Taranaki and Port Auckland apples in sound condition ; pears in variable condition. Apple market is steady. Current prices are; Cox’s Orange, 10/- to 15/-; Granny Smith, 10/- to 12/-; Jonathan and Delicious, 9/- to 11/6; Stunner, 9/- to 11/-; Cleopatra, 9/- to 10/6; Statesman. 8/- to 10/-; Dunn’s Favourite and Ballarat, 8/6 to 9/6; London Pippin, 8/6; Otago Cox’s Orange, 12/to 18/-; Delicious, 10/- to 12/-; Jonathan, 9/- to 11/-; Dunn’s Favourite, 8/- to 10/-.
Pears: Market is weaker owing to liberal supplies and variable condition. Current prices are; Cornice, 10/- to 14/-; Winter Nelis, 9/- to 11/-; Buerre Bose and Conference, 8/; to 10/-; Winter Cole., Vicar of Winkfield, P. Barry and Pacfchain’s Triumph, 7/6 to 10/-; Twyford Monarch, Buerre Clairgeau, Keiffer and Buerre Biel, 7/- to 8/-; Otago Winter Nelis. 8/- to 11/-; Winter Cole, 8/- to 9/-; Comice, 10/- to 12/-.
