HOCKEY TEAM ARRIVES
Wellington Civic Welcome A GOODWILL MISSION By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 13. The Indian hockey team arrived to-day and were met by officials at the boat. They were afterwards accorded a civic welcome The Mayor made reference to the friendly attitude of the Rugby and Association football authorities in agreeing to postpone matches on June 1 io avoid clashing with the India v. Wellington hockey fixture. Mr Goodman, president of the New Zealand Hockey Association, also spoke, and the manager of the team, Mr B. Doctor, said that if the visit gave an impetus ,to the game in New Zealand their real object would be attained. They were more or less on a goodwill mission.
The visitors were entertained at morning tea by the Government at Parliament House.
