REPLACEMENTS IN ALL-INDIA TEAM.

The New Zealand Hoekey Association has received official advice from Mr Behram Doctor (manager of the All-India team) that Jir Harbail Singh replaces H.H. of Manavadar, who went down with influenza the day the team sailed, and Mr P. P. Frernandez replaces Mr R. C. Agnihorti who, for private reasons, had to withdraw at the last minute. Dhyn Chand, who was vicecaptain originally, now becomes captain of the team, and Mr M. M. Masud takes over the vice-captaincy. It is interesting to recall that Dhyan Chand and Arthur Mahoney (then a Canterbury representative), who will captain the All-India and Hawke’s Bay teams respectively, opposed one another in the three Tests played between the Indian Army team and New Zealand in 1926.

Arrangements have been made to sell tickets for admission to McLean Park before the match and thus relieve the pressure at the gates. These tickets are now procurable at the Oily White Sports Depot, Dalton street, Napier. The two outstanding players were McCutcheon (Kiwis’ centre forward) and Vercoe (Scinde’e right half). Goals were scored for the winners by McCutcheon (4), C. Russell and K. Pirie, and for the 10-sens by G. Burns and A. Kessell, M, Atkinson refereed. Old Boys (6) v. Taradale (2).

WOMEN’S SECTION. Tech. O.G. (3) v. Te Ngarue (nil).— Although Te Ngarue took the field with only nine players, nevertheless they put up a good defence and held the Reds for a greater part of the game. Goals were scored by Miss Ada Huxtahle (2) and Miss Myrtle Webster. .Messrs Hallett and Vercoe refereed. Taradale (7) v. Alarama (nil). —Taradale had matters much their own way and ran out winners by seven goals to nil. Air Hallett refereed. Napier (6) v. Hu'a (!'. Clive (4) v. Te Awa (nil ).
