CHURCH NOTES

At St. Matthew's, Church to-morrow there will be celebrations of the Holy Communion at 7 a.m., 8 a.m. and 9.30 a.m. Alatins and sermon will be at 11 a.m., Holy Baptism at 3 p.m. and hospital service 6 p.m. There will be no evening service at Mahora, but the usual service at St. Barnabas’, Parkvale, at 7 p.m. Sunday schools and Bible classes will meet at usual hours at St. Matthew’s, Parkvale, and at Alahora. At St. Alatthew’s Church at 7 p.m. a Jubilee thanksgiving service will be held. The form of service as used on Alay 6 at St. Paul’s Cathedral will be followed. The hymn, “1 Vow to Thee, My Country’’ will be sung by the choir.

The services in St. Andrew’s Church to-morrow will be of a special nature. The morning service will be associated with the idea of Alothers’ Day and in commemoration, of Florence Nightingale. Hospital nurses, Nurses’ Christian Union, Red Cross Society and St. John Ambulance will parade, with local members of the Hospital Board. The evening service, which will be relayed to St. John’s Hall, will be a thanksgiving service in connection with the King’s Silver Jubilee.

The services in the Havelock North Presbyterian Church to-morrow will be conducted by the Rev. R. B. Waugh. The morning and afternoon services will be Alothers’ Day services. ]n the evening the subject will be, “The Religion of Our Alothers’ Day.”

“Tho Mother Love of God” will be the special subject for the evening service at 7 o'clock in tho Baptist Church to-morrow, when Alothers’ Day will be celebrated. The preacher will be the Rev. C. B. Boggis. For the morning service at 11 the theme will be “Christ and the Home.” Friends are asked to wear the white flower and there will be a distribution of these by the Junior Endeavourers at the door at the morning service. A very hearty welcome is extended to all to join for worship. The church will be heated.

In the Hastings Alethodist Church to-inorrow special Alothers’ Day services will be held, also a national thanksgiving musical service in the evening. The Rev. R. B. Gosnell will take as his morning subject, “The Sword-pierced Soul.” The choir will sing “I Am Alpha” and Loma, Viti and lan Gosnell will sing “Memories of Mother.” A very unique dedication service will take place in the afternoon, when some twenty children will be dedicated to God in the sacrament of baptism. Items will be rendered by the Sunday school children and adults are heartily invited to this interesting service. A national thanksgiving musical service will commence at 7 o’clock, when the subject will be, “How God Saves the King.” The choir will sing “God of Abraham Praise” and “How Long Will Thou Forsake Ale?” By special request Aliss Dorothy Symonds will sing “Abide With Ale.” Worshippers are requested to wear a white flower in memory o f mother and the offerings and donations during the day are for the school enlargement fund.

A special service in commemoration of His Majesty the King's Silver Jubilee will be conducted by Adjutant Riseley on Sunday night at the Salva, tion Army Citadel. A Mothers’ Day service will be conducted at Whakatu in the afternoon, to which all are invited.

The subject at the United Hall on Sunday night will be the first of two addresses on the signs of tbe return of Christ to earth, and will be entitled, “The Restoration of the Jews to Pales, tine” ; an indication of the nearness of Christ's return. All interested are welcome.

I’he service at the StortforJ Lodge Undenominational Mission Hall will he conducted by Mr J Thorp. All are heartily welcome to this bright weekly service.
