GARDEN CIRCLE VISIT

Havelock Institute Members

Members of the Havelock North Women’s Institute garden circle were recently the guests of Mrs. Innes Campbell, and Miss McCorkindale, Victoria street, Hastings. After looking round Miss AlcCorkindale'a garden and fernery, a visit was paid to Mrs. Campbell’s home and garden, her beautiful chrysanthemum blooms Doing much admired.

Returning to Miss McCorkindale’s residence a very pleasant hour was spent in the drawing-room, which was decorated with bowls and vases of beautiful tree marigolds and autumn-tinted foliage. Afternoon tea was followed by an advertisement competition, Mrs. Egan being the winner of the prize. Mrs. McCorkindale gave a short but

very interesting talk on early days in the Queenstown district and Miss Peggy Sim, a visitor from Southland, delighted everyone with two pianoforte solos. A very hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mrs. Campbell and Miss AteCorkindale.
