H.B. CHILDREN’S HOME

Annual Appeal on March 30 Each year the trustees of the Hawke's Bay Children’s Home have made an appeal to the residents ot Hawke's Bay to assist them in carrying : on this valuable social work a ready • response has been accorded, and it is felt this year will be no exception. In 1 asking for donations totalling £lOOO, the trustees realise they are asking tor a substantial sum of money, hut it is essential that sufficient fund*- should he available to provide the children with food, clothing and supervision. On Saturday, March 30, a collection will be made throughout the Hawke’s Bay district, anil to those residents who cannot be reached by a collector an appeal is made to forward their donations by post. The Children's Home has provided for orphaned, neglected and destitute children for the past 42 years, and any i child of any denomination who is in ; indifferent circumstances and between the ages of 4 and 11 years is admitted, providing a bed is available. This work from its inception has been carried on I through the generous support of the Hawke’s Bay people. The present financial position is most difficult; hence the more urgent nature of the appeal on this occasion. It matters not how small the donations may be ; every little helps, and many small sums become in the aggregate a big sum. Cheques should be made payable to the Hawke’s Bay Children's Home and forwarded to Mr H. E. Edgeley, treasurer, Church Lane (P.O. Bqx 115), Napier.
