230-MILE CAR RACE

Success of Morris Products In the Melbourne Centerary Grand Prix 230-mile road race at Phillip Island, the Team Prize was won by the AI.G. team, which was the only one to finish. The team was composed of three M.G. Midgets of the latest “p” type, driven by Messrs. L. Murphy, M. Maxwell and C. Graham. M.G. cars were also placed second, fifth, seventh and eighth. In the Victorian Junior Car Club’s 24-hour reliability trial, held over mountainous country between mansfield, Woods Point and Aloe, the AI.G. team was awarded the Team Prize, thus consolidating still further the enviable reputation of these sports cars in the Commonwealth.
