WOODFORD OLD GIRLS
Annual Reunion Week-end RENEWING OF FRIENDSHIPS Members of the Woodford House Old Girls’ Association from all parts of New Zealand are visiting Havelock North lor the annual reunion week-end, which commenced yesterday. in the early part of the afternoon the executive committee and delegates from other branches met at Woodford House and this was followed by afternoon tea, which was a most happy gathering when old friendships were renewed and old times spent at school seemed to be a favourite topic of conversation. Alter tea everyone enjoyed a stroll round the gardens, which were particularly bright and gay and showed to great advantage in the perfect sunshine. It was with envious eyes that the old girls viewed the wonderful new swimming baths now being constructed, which will be greatly appreciated by the Woodford House girls next year. A group photograph was taken of all the old girls present and this should prove a reminder of a very happy occasion. Later in the afternoon the second general annual meeting was held in the Assembly Hall, a hearty welcome being extended to the delegates and visiting members from other branches by Mrs Neil Campbell, president of the Woodlord House Old Girls’ Association. NEED FOII CO-OPERATION. Mi's Campbell stressed the importance of the co-operation given by the various branches and thanked them very much for their great assistance. General business and new ideas were discussed and suggestions from the different branches were received. At the conclusion of the meeting a very hearty vote of thanks was passed to Airs Neil Campbell for her untiring efforts in connection with the association, and also to Mrs G. Ale A Hey tor' the wonderful work she had done as secretary all through the year. At-7 p.m. the old girls adjourned to the dining-room, which was gaily decorated with red and white streamers, red geraniums and white daisies, for the old girls’ supper. Numbers were issued for
places, with the result that very old old girls and new old girls were all mixed together, and everyone had a chance of meeting those who had either been at school before or after them. The prefects and leaving girls waited at supper and the meal was a particularly jolly one, many toasts being proposed and responded to with great enthusiasm.
