Great interest is being shown in the parade, which is really in the nature <>t a number of trials over various distances to be arranged this evening. The whole entertainment will be carried out as on a race day and programmes will be issued free of charge, ilr Artu Holmes, the well-known Hastings racecourse custodian, will he in charge of the barrier I’he public are cordml'y invited ’ey the Hawke’s Bat Jockey Club to he present at this function on Thursday ■ afternoon, which is in the nature of a house warming to the reconditioned stands and other important improvements to the Hastings racecourse. gratis to all those who wish to partake of same. The first event will start about 2.15 and the last event at four at the latest..

With so many two-year-olds having their first race at Napier next week as well as other young untried horses, this parade is a boon to owners and trainers. The entertainment promised should be of the best as well as acting as a guide, in a sense, to the Napier race meeting,therefore a big attendance is expected.
