M.G. SPORT’S CLUB
Basketball With Woolworth’s The members of the Woolworths’ basketball team were the guests of the | M.G. Sports Club at its last weekly I night. A very exciting and most en- : joyablc game of basketball was played, j and no doubt with memories of a reeenl ‘ defeat nt the-bands of the M.G’s, Wool ; worths’ played with the ' ini of <-h#ni-| pions, and eaine out winners by I.", goal;, to 12. M.G.’s had many chances to equalise, and even head Woolworths’ I off, but their forwards lacked the goal throwing power that Woolworths seem to put into use from any direction. , Miss Georgie made a most capable re- i feree and strictly adhered to the rules. Mixed partners were formed after the basketball game, and badminton, tenniquoit, ping pong and darts were then played. A most enjoyable supper was provid
cd by the Indies. Miss Georgir, speaking on behalf of the ladies, thaniJed the'boys for an enjoyable evening, and so much did they enjoy it that they wished they could have another match. Mr Garland, responding for the boys, said that they had enjoyed it so much that they would certainly arrange another meeting. The M.G.’s next main event is a football match with the Napier Territorials next week-end, September 23, at Clive.
