OPENING MEETING OF DX CLL> From Our Own Correspondent. WAIPCKURAU, September 14. The Waipukurau branch of the New Zealand DX Radio Association, held its official opening meeting last night at the residence of the secretary, Mr J. G. Morton. Mr G- A. Lys, secretary of the Hastings and Napier branches, together with several Hastings R.A. members were in attendance. Several local listeners were joined up with the branch. The club is indebted to Mr G. A. Lys and the Hastings members, and also Mr E. A. Perry, of 2ZP, Wairoa, for making the meeting a success. After tho election of officer* had been dealt with, rules were drawn up for cup competitions. A cup has been presented to th* branch for competition amongst members, this being a monthly competi* « tion. Mr W. Coates, of Hastings, gen* J erously presented a book of O.S.L. forms to be given to the first new member to receive 30 verifications. Meetings are to be hold twice a month, and all DX radio enthusiasts, who are interested in distance reception are asked to attend or get in touch with the branch secretary, Mr J. G. Mor* ton.
