License Revival Approved

LETTER FROM MINISTER

The Minister of Internal Affairs, the Hon. J. A- Young, has approved the revival of a license for an alluvial gold raffle for the Hastings Mayor’s Belief Fund.

In a letter to the Mayor, Mr G. A. Maddison, the Minister wrote; ‘T have to advise that to permit of your Belief Fund Committee fulfilling its obligations to the purchasers of tickets in tho £lO alluvial gold raffle for which a license was issued in the name of Miss Ruth E. Niblock on May 8 last, and which raffle was interrupted by an illegality, I have approved of such license being revived and transferred to yourself. “It is desirable that no further tickets be disposed of, but to allow the necessary preliminaries being completed the date of drawing of the raffle may bo extended to the 29th inst.”
