FIRST ANNUAL MEETING

About GO very enthusiastic members of the Hawke’s Bay branch of the | Woudlurd House (fid Girls Association were present at the general meeting j held in the Hawke’s Bay Farmers’ tearooms on Wednesday, Airs. Neil Camp- ' bell, president of the association being I in the chair. Also present were Miss I Hodge (ex-principal of Woodford House), Miss Holland (present princi- I pal), and Mrs. W. Deans (president ol the Christchurch branch ol the associa. tiou). Apologies were received from Mesdames Gouvill o Saunders, W. McKenzie, E. Groonie, J. Hunter, ilindmarsh, Averill, T. Price, J. Mastersou, Misses Morgan, Nairn, Fitzroy, J. Coop and Al. Couper, The meeting was a somewhat important one as it marked a year since the inauguration of the association. The balance-sheet lor the year showed a most satisfactory financial position for such a young association, and a very sincere vote of thanks was accorded .Mr. J. B. Wilson, the honorary auditor, lor the work he had done in assisting to organise the association. Business was discussed during the afternoon, and then the election of officers lor the ensuing year took place. I 1 he re-election ol the president, Mrs | Neil Campbell, was most popular, as j Mrs. Campbell proves herself more and ! more capable each time she presides. j The resignation of the vice-president, ; Mrs. Gouville Saunders, was received with regret, and Mrs. A. H. Hope was elected unopposed to fill the vacancy. The committee is as follows:—Mesilamcs W Mackenzie, F. Donnelly, W. A. Whitlock, W. W Sherratt, Clark, and Misses Hazel Bell and Joan Harrison.
