FOOTBALLERS' DANCE, TROPHIES PRESENTED. From Our Own Correspondent, TAKA PAU, Sept. 13. Thu Takapau Football Club’s annual dance held last evening in the Takapau public hall was a particularly successful function. The hall was filled to capacity. Excellent music was provided by Mr Ken Hick’s (Dannevirke) orchestra. The M.C.'s were Air M. ■!. AlcKenna and Air C. AlcLeod. Tho decoration of the ballroom was carried out by Mrs W. T. Smith in club colours and spring flowers with mural panels, and the effect was a very pleasing one. Air B. L. Wallis, chairman Central Hawke’s Bay Sub-Union, with Messrs C. N. Williamson, secretary, and R. Rickett represented the sub-union, and during an interval Mr Wallis presented the shield and challenge cup, the presentation being received by Air R. A. Fraser and the trophies handed over by him to the club captain, Air A Tremewa.n. Congratulatory speeches were made by Alessrs N AL Paulsen, W. Hobson and J. 1). Ornicud and Air Tremewan replied for the players. Airs Murphy capably supervised the supper which was supplied by the ladies and this part of the evening’s entertainment evidenced good management. The proceeds from the evening which will total over £3O when expenses are paid, will he donated to a fund tor injured players
