CONCERT AND DANCE
WAIPAWA PARTY AT OMAKERE
From Our Own Correspondent. OMAKERE. September 10. Residents of the Omakere district were fortunate in receiving a visit from the Waipawa Presbyterian concert party recently, and although the weather was anything but favourable, it must have been gratifying to them, to see the large and appreciative audience who braved the elements. The various choruses and solos of old Scottish melodies were greatly enjojcU. Miss G. McHardy was responsible for a most amusing competition, "Items of a Menu,'' Mrs McGregor, Waipawa, being the winner and receiving a handsome box of chocolates. After a delicious supper served by the ladies, under the capable innnage- .... of Mrs Wallace, Mrs F. McHardy thanked the visitors, and expressed the hope that this was only the first of many such evenings Dancing was then indulged tn to mnsic supplied by Mrs Strang. Miss Kingston and Mr Laverty (accordion).
