POLITICS & PAGEAxNTRY Schuschnigg in Florence TALKS WITH MUSSOLINI (By Telegraph-Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Received 22, 10.10 a.m.) FLORENCE, Aug. 21. Elaborate pageantry marked the arrival of Herr Schuschnigg from Vienna to confer with Signor Mussolini. The platform was lined with fascists, including small boys carrying dummy rifles. Signor Mussolini, in a dark suit and white yachting cap, greeted Herr Schuschnigg in German as trumpeters dressed in mediaeval Florentine costume played a fanfare. Herr Schuschnigg, pale and nervous, accompanied tho Duce to tho Villa Carinin, where they had a discussion on the economic situation in Austria and Danubian countries. A joint statement is expected expressing determination'to keep Austria independent. Herr Schuschnigg later announced a complete agreement with Signor Mussolini, not only on general but also on Austro-Italian problems. The most important result of the conversations is that Herr Schuschnigg and Signor Mussolini agreed that the active collaboration of Italy ami Austria is necessary. GERMANY’S SECRET PLANS “White-Ant” Tactics Alleged PARIS, Aug. 14. Declaring that Germany is organising the Nazification of Austria, the newspaper “Paris-Soir” alleges that secret headquarters nt Passau, Bavaria, will supply arms, ammunition and explosives. Direct action committees which hove been established in Vienna, Innsbruck and Linz will seek Austrians capable of terrorist outrages, which must be planned to give the impression of being the outcome of popular movements. The German Minister of Propaganda, Dr. Goebbels, it is stated, has ordered German editors and Nazi propagandists in Austria to make the utmost efforts to foster disagreement within the Austrian Government, and particularly to throw the responsibility on Major Fey, who must be represented as plotting to supplant the Dollfuss form of alliance with Italy.,
