A secondary schools Rugby match between Timaru and Southland was played here to-day and resulted in a win for Timaru by 12 points to eight. Timaru’s win was well deserved, coming as a result of solid work by tho forwards and excellent combined play by the backs. The game was keenly contested throughout. PRIMARY SCHOOL RUGBY. QUADRANGULAR TOURNAMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, August 20. Surprisingly good football was witnessed at the second day of the quadrangular primary schools Rugby tournament to-day. Hutt Valley defeated Rangitikei by 33 to nil and ’1 aranaki defeated Horowhenua by nine to nil.
