OBITUARY
Hon. Maurice Brett (Received 20. 10.10 a.m.) LONDON. Aug. 19. The death has occurred of the Hon. Maurice Brett. He collapsed while grouse shooting at Callender, Scotland. His wife. Miss Zona Dare, was acting at Glasgow at the time. The news was withheld until alter the performance, when she motored at midnight to Callender. Lt.-Col. Hun. Maurice Brett, 0.11. E., M.V.0., was the secund son of the second Viscount Esher, and was born in 1882. He served with the Coldstream Guards and Um Black Watch, and was A.1).0’, to Sir John French from 1904 to 1912. During the Great War he was mentioned four times in dispatches. He was secretary to the Garton Foundation, Assistant-Keeper and Librarian to the London Museum, and author of .Maxims of War He married the actress Miss Zena Dare in 1911, and is survived also by one son and two daughters.
