INNER HARBOUR
Siltation at Entrance POSITION BEING WATCHED The engineer to tho Napier Harbour Board has observed rapid siltation at the entrance to the Inner Harbour, and the. chairman stated this morning that two shifts would be worked to clear it, for the export, season Mr Trevor M. Geddis, chairman of the board, said that the works comhnittee were carefully watching the position, and would see that the export season would not in any way suffer interference. “Although recently there have been unexpected increases in siltation,” he continued, “tho position is being verv clpselv watched, and tho hoard wiU make certain that tho season will not. in any way be impaired. Instead of one shift, as the works committee proposes, the engineer is of the opinion that two shifts should be employed till siltation at that point is cleared.” Tho board affirmed the engineer’s suggestion.
