“Our motives are pure, and we only ask foij justice. We desire only to serve aud honour our God and to give to his children the best form of education which it is possible for them to have. We desire, in short, to carry out loyally tho Declaration of Geneva that mankind owes to the child the best it has to give,’’ said the Most Rev. A. W. Averill, Archbishop and Primate of New Zealand, in concluding an address at a mass meeting held at the Wellington Town Hall this afternoon under the auspices of the Bible-in-State-Schools League. Tho meeting resolved to appeal to Parliament to give statutory enactment of the Religious Instruction in Public Schools Enabling Bill without further delay.
