HASTINGS HOME LEAGUE

A HAPPY GATHERING. A happy gathering of Home League members met in the Salvation Army Hull, Hastings, on Wednesday last. The hymn, ‘‘What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” was chosen for the opening song, followed by a prayer from Mrs Irons. The roll was then called, members giving a text with the word “praise.” Afternoon tea was served by Mesdames Sawyer and Mannering, then members set to work rebinding the hymn books. Mrs Plumley read a few verses of Scripture. The afternoon was brought to a close with a song and a prayer from Mrs Cook, especially remembering the sick and those in need. Next week members are asked to bring a bottle of pickles, sauce, or chutney. Mrs Nielson will be in charge of the meeting
