SUNDAY NIGHT CONCERT

An Attractive Programme

There should be a, good attendance at the concert in the Hastings Municipal Theatre on Sunday evening, as the programme to be presented is a most attractive one.

Messrs Berthold and Bent are string instrument and vocal entertainers whose broadcast numbers from 2YA, Wellington, have been most popular with listeners-in, and their inclusion in Sunday’s programme will certainly meet with approval. A very popular performer who has not been Heard in Hastings for some time is Mr. E. G. Stevenson, who is the possessor of an excellent tenor voice which is heard to advantage in many of the j;ood old songs, as well as the modern works.

Paul Sinden, the clever yodeller, is making a name for himself in his broadcasts, and will prove an attraction on Sunday evening.

Another delightful singer of the most appealing type is Miss Lorna McKeegan, while Miss Valma John knows just how to entertain with clever character sketches. Some beautiful dance numbers, including an attractive ballet, are on the programme, and the orchestral uuni'iers arc in the capable hands of Mr. Jack Skelton and his Napier Buffalo Lodge orchestra, w’ho gained wonderful popularity on their previous appearance here. Altogether the programme is an attractive one and should provide a splen. did evening’s entertainment.

Late buses will be available for Havelock and Napier after the concert. Mr. Chas. O'Neill, hairdresser (next Denton Wyatt’s) has tho plan, and early booking is advised.
