PUKEHAMOAMOA GROUP. The ninthly meeting ol the Pukehamoamou Maori Women’s Institute «as heli at Pukehainoiunoa. Mrs Davies presided over a fair attendance of members, one new member being welcomed. After ihe usual business all members answered the roll call, nf what I’j do with £5. Mrs Davis demonstrated the making of a thrift rug. Some of the members rsked to be shown how to make pine-needle baskets also. A dainty afternoon tea was provided by Mrs P. Nuku, the hostess. TAKAPAU MEETING. A special meeting organised by the Takapau Women’s Institute was held in the Takapau Public Hall for the purpose of hearing an address from Miss Spencer, Dominion secretary of the Women’s Institute. Miss Spencer gave a very interesting talk on her recent trip to England and the Continent, illustrated by lantern slides of scenes from Denmark, Sweden and Norway, showing national costumes, industries, dwellings, dancing and views of notable buildings, and wayside scenes of country life and pastures. Mrs Kilford. in the absence of the president, Mrs Jackson, presided. A hearty vote of thanks was proposed to the speaker by Mrs W B. White and carried in the usual manner. After supper a dance was held, the music being provided by Mr Te Tau, Mr C. Olsen acting as M.C.
