TO-MORROW’S BALL
Red Cross Gaieties BRIDGE AND DANCING To-morrow night the Hastings public, and pleasure-loving people from tho surrounding country districts also, will reunite at the Hastings Assembly Hall for the tiird annual Red Gross Bali and Bridge evening, and join in tho gaieties for which this brilliant event has become justly so famous. Everybody who is anybody will be there, and it will be a gay reunion of all the bright spirits, both young and old, who relish a night’s fun and any opportunity of giving a helping hand to those less fortunate than themselves. Tho ball is in aid of Red Cross relief work, but there need be no fear that anything will be stinted lor the sake of money-making. Nothing of that sort is necessary, for the assistance given by the society’s sympathetic friends has enabled tho organisers of the bull to save a very great part of the expense that would otherwise have been- involved. The supper will be plentiful and delicious to the last degree, and the music by Les Henry’s Orchestra is too well known to need any further praise. It may be said, however, that the orchestra has selected a special programme of music for the occasion, and will open the ball with that ever-popular and beautiful waltz, the “Blue Danube.” Bridge will be played in the Council Chambers, and Mrs. H. M. Bishop should be informed if patrons intend to make up tables- ’The play will not continue too late to enable players to have a number of dances afterwards. Special trophies will be presented for bridge, and Mrs, T. H. Lowry has given prizes for the best waltz and for tho winners of a spot-light dance. It will he an evening of rare gaiety, and not the least of its many attractive features is that tho prices of tickets, which are obtainable at the door, have been reduced to 3/6 and 6/-.
