WEDDING

FORREST—WALTON. At the Port Ahuriri Presbyterian Church on Easter Monday afternoon, the Rev. J. Kedgley united in the holy bonds of matrimony Hazel Mary Williams Walton, only daughter of Mr and Mrs R. Walton, Battery road, Namer, and Robert Forrest, son of Mr and Mrs A. Forrest, also of Battery road, Napier. The service commenced with the singing of “The Voice that Breathed o’er Eden.” Miss Beach presided at the organ and rendered appropriate bridal music. The bride was escorted, and given away by her father. She wore a dainty wedding gown of white satin beauto cut on long flared lines. The bodice had long puffed sleeves of peau-d’ange lace. The veil of embroidered tulle, was held in place oy clusters of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of white carnations and roses tied with satin streamers. Miss Winnie Smart (Woodville) attended as bridesmaid. Her frock was attractively fashioned of daffodil georgette made with elbow puff sleeves and waist bow at back. A smart hat to tone was worn and she carried a bouquet of mauve asters and lemon roses. Mr James Jenkins carried out the duties of be-., man. After the ceremony a reception, attended by some 70 guests, was held, and at the wedding tea all the usual toasts were honoured. Mrs Walton received in a very becoming gown of Burgundy phantom silk crepe relieved with white. The hat toned, and she carried an 1820 posy of blue and wine coloured flowers. Mrs Forrest (mother of the bridegroom) wore black silk marocnin trimmed witli white crepe de chine collar and cuffs, smart black hat and 18-0 posy in autumn tints. The young couple left later for a tour of the North Island, Mrs Forrest travelling in a black and white diagonal stripe coat worn over a black and white frock with hat to match. Among the .guests from other parts were: Mr and Mrs H. Thompson and son (Gisborne), Mr and Mrs W. Paterson Walker. Mr and Mrs W. H. Shardlow (Detune), Mr and Mrs E. Smart and family (Woodville), Mesdames Gauntlett (Wellington) and Smart, sent. (Nelson), and Miss Garner (Auckland).
