VALUES FALL AWAY

Stortford Cattle Sale

COMPETITION LESS KEEN

With few prime quality cattle entered, values tor fat cattle, particularly lighter and poorer sorts, showed an easier tendency at Stortford Lodge today. Good quality entries made rates on a par to easier, but once the demand for lighter lines was filled, values fell away to some degree. There was a big proportion ot travelled lines entered at to day’s sale, including several lines of Wairoa stock. Several of the pens contained cattle which were more suited to the store pens and on such drafts several farmers were taking an interest in the better sorts there was steady competition coming from local buyers and export operators.
