Petrol Explodes in Wash-house By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 1. Fire following an explosion of petrol vapour caused severe burns to the face, arms and body of Mr Robert Adams, aged 52, of Rintoul street. He was taken to hospital unconscious and later succumbed. Mr Adams was apparently treating tarpaulins with petrol in a wash-house when flames from a fire under the copper exploded the vapour, setting fire to Adams’ clothing and the washhouse. A next-door neighbour rushed in immediately, and with the help of another man dragged Mr Adam" from the blazing building.
