LONGER SUMMER TIME
Inclusion of Easter EXTENSION TO APRIL 29 Summer time, which normally would have ended on Saturday, will continue until April 29, when clocks will be put back half an hour. Holiday-makers will therefore enjoy the benefit of daylight saving during the Easter vacation, which commences at the end of this month. The Summer Time Amendment Act', passed last December, will result in an additional six weeks this season, and in future years the gain will be slightly more than that, owing to the earliv commencement of the period.. Instead of the clocks being advanced half an hour on the second Sunday in October, they will in future years be advanced on the last Sunday in September. They will remain advanced to the last Sunday in April, instead of being put back on the third Sunday in March. The extension is particularly welcome to lovers of the outdoors this summer, as the succession of unfavourable week-ends experienced until recently has prevented the full enjoyment of daylight saving.
