Mr. W. Sou. of Havelock KortfU left by car this morning on a hhoei visit to Auckland. Dr. and Mrs. Romaine Wright, nf Hastings, left by the mail train thjj morning for Wellington, en route to England on a holiday visit. Mr. and Mrs. W. Taylor, of Martine borough, who have been visiting Hastings and Napier, returned soath by the mail train this morning. Mr. lan Graham, of the head office staff of the Justice Departmeat, Wellington, has been transferred to the Napier Magistrate’s Court. He left Wellington this morning to take up He new duties. Mr. H. R. von Dadelszen, chairman of the Havelock North Town Board, was unanimously elected to the executive of the Municipal Association of New Zealand at the annual conference held in Wellington last week. The Rev. A. S. Morrison, after 47 years in the ministry of the Presbyterian Church, the last 17 years at Rakaia, has tendered his resignation, to take effect at the end of this month. Mr. Morrison was ordained ip Hastings on May 17, 1894. Messrs. H. Poppelwell and A. Christie, junr., left Hastings by oar this morning for Auckland en route to Sydney on a visit. They expect to be away about a month. Mr. A. Christie, senr., accompanied them as far as Auckland. Lieut. J. T. Lean R.N., has been appointed to H.M.S. Philomel, vice Lieutenant-Commander P. A. Perry, R.N. Lieutenant Lean is due for promotion to Lieutenant-Commander in May. He will sail for New Zealand by the Mataroa on April 20. Lieutenant- Commander F. G. Ince, R.A.N. (retired), of Melbourne, is visiting Auckland, and is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. D. Maogregor, of Park road, Grafton. Lieutenant-Commander Ince is the second son of the late Mr. F. G. Ince, formerly of the Lands and Survey Department, and was last in Auckland in 1900 when serving in H.M.S. Tauranga. Before joining the Royal Navy he was a member of Hie old Ponsonby Naval Artillery.
