OBITUARY
Professor Davidson Black (“Times” cable). (Received 17, 10.30 a.m.) PEKING, March 16. Professor Davidson Black, a brilliant Canadian scientist, who was prominently associated with tho Peking man discoveries, died at his desk at the Rockefeller hospital here from heart failure yesterday, aged 49, Tie is survived by a widow and two children. Colonel Sidney Beach 1 c An Adelaide cable states that tho death has occurred of Colonel Sidney ’ Beach, one of the original members of 1 the Adelaide Stock Exchange, aged 74. 1 1 Captain C. K. Kempson Cabled advice has been received of 1 tho death at Paiguton, Devonshire, of ‘ Captain C H. Kempson, at the a fi e of j 82 years. There are many people , throughout New Zealand who will have kindly and pleasant memories of Cap- ' tain kempson, who for many years was I in command of the favourite passenger , steamers trading to the Dominion in j those days Captain Kempson was for some vears afterwards the company’s 1 chief officer at Plymouth, but retired t from active service in 1913
