NEW CLUB ROOM
Hastings Frontiersmen FORMAL OPENING The new club-room of the Hastings squadron of the Legion of Frontiersmen, in Webber and Shattky’s Build- ■ ing, was formally opened on Thursday * evening, and a social gathering was held to mark the occasion. Lieut. A. Brathwaite presided during , the earlier part of the evening, and later handed over the chair to Capt. Byford, of Napier, who was one of a number of Napier visitors. Tho usual toasts were honoured, and an interesting and humorous address was given by the squadron’s chaplain. Canon C. Mortimer-Jones, who praised the aims and organisation «f tho Legion. An apologv for absence was received from Mr. H. M. Campbell, M.P., who was detained in Wellington on I’arliamentary business.
