SITTING AT WAIPAWA BEFORE MR J. MILLER, S.M. (From Our Own Correspondent) Mr J. Miller, S.M., presided at the monthly meeting of the Waipawa Magistrate’s Court. G. Nelson, for hawking clothes pegs in the borough without being the holder of a bawker’s license, was fined 10/- and costs £1 0/6. J. A. McCullough, for operating a motor lorry on which the quarterly license fee had not been paid was fined £2 and costs 10/-. J. B. Hamilton was fined 15’- and costs 12/- for driving a car without a light, and 10/- and costs 10/- for failing to give way to allow an overtaking car to pass. J. O’Halloran was ordered to pay 51per week maintenance. John Large was sentenced to three weeks’ imprisonment for disobeying an order of ihe Court to pay maintenance, to be released on payment of arrears, £8 10/Judgment was entered up for plaintiffs in the following civil suits: —D D. Edwards Ltd v Murray Panapa. £l2 12/10, costs £3 6/0; Waipawa County Council v. C. Baker, £1 3/6. costs 8;-; same v L. W Franklin, £3 2/3, costs £1 5'6; same v H. Judgment summons—N Scheele was ordered to pay R Peat £26 19'- hi monthly instalments of fl fi/-. in default. 2" weeks’ imprisonment
