SHOPS’ EASTER HOLIDAYS. From Our Own Correspondent. Recently the retailers’ committee of the Waipawa Chamber of Commerce decided that business premises should be open on Easter Saturday, but the decision was hot received with favour by a majority of the tradespeople. It has now been decided to observe the late night on Thursday and to close till Tuesday morning. Tuesday next will be the bi-monthly visit of the Waipawa branch of the Red Cross Society to Pukeora Sanatorium, and gifts of cakes etc. will be most acceptable. The earthquake felt throughout Hawke’s Bay on Thursday night was sufficiently severe in Waipawa to displace a number of articles, but it did not create the same apprehension as The Municipal Band is to give a concert in the mam street this evening.
