BOWLING
GAMES AT WAIRERE'CREEN. CENTRE CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHIES. A tournament was played on the Wairere Bowling Club’s green on Thursday afternoon. An official rink of the Centre was included amongst the rinks engaged Their presence was for the purpose of presenting Messrs Venables and Sinclair with their trophies as winners of the Centre champion pairs. Mr R. D. Kelly, president of the Hawke’s Bay Centre made a nice little speech in presenting the trophy to the winners and congratulating them upon their success. Both Messrs Venables and Sinclair replied, thanking the president for hi 9 remarks and the Centre and players from other rinks for what had been a very enjoyable tournament. The games played during the afternoon, resulted as follow;— Official Centre rink (Logan, Bear, Bendall and Kelly (s) ) 26; beat Wairere (Elliott, Newbigin, Sinclair and Venables) 14, McNiven, Hardy-Gibson, Hunt and Engebretsen (s) 20 beat Black, Rnnciman, P. Smith and Thomas (s) 10. Goodger, Bridge, McGhee, Beer (s) 36; beat Turnbull, Grayling, Poppelwell, C. Pirie (s) 16. Parsons, Russell, Belcher, Wrightson (s) beat Thompson, Ellis, Swoetapplc, Burt (a) 18. F. Alying, Sauds, Rowe, Bryan (s)
