RESTORATION OF "CUTS”

Hospital Board’s Finances

DIRECTOR-GENERAL’S IDEA

(By Telearaph —Press Association WELLINGTON, Feb. 24

A circular letter from Dr. Watt, Director-General of Health, has been received by the Wellington Hospital Board stating that attention has been drawn to the fact that a number of hospital boards have been considering Ihe question of restoring the salary reductions imposed during 1932-33 and that there appeared to be a distinct possibility that the whole position would be complicated by cuts being restored, wholly or partly in some cases and being allowed to stand in ease of other boards.

Dr. Watt suggested that the boards should await further advice from the Department in March, when it was

hoped to be able to nfford a definite guide to all boards.

The Wellington board agreed with the recommendation of the DirectorGeneral.
