TARIFF COMMISSION
Report Due at End of March EXTENSION OF TIME MADE (By Telegraph-Press Association.) WELLINGTON. Feb. 24.
An announcement that the Tariff Commission inquiry had been extended until the end of March was made by the Minister of Finance last night. "When early last month I made a statement respecting the report of the Tariff Commission, I indicated that it was then too early to fix a date upon which the report would be received and the time within which the report was due was extended to February 28.” said Mr Cotes. II have discussed the matter with the chairman of the commission, and he advises me that the work cannot be completed on that date owing to the difficulty of obtaining accurate information and the amount of detailed work involved.
"It is now hoped that the report will bo completed by the end of March, and it has been decided to extend the period for reporting accordingly.”
