VITAL STATISTICS
Figures for Napier The Napier vital statistics for the month of January of this year show a decrease in the number of births mid an increase on the number of deaths and niarringes when the figures arc compared with those of January, 1933. The following are details of the statieties:— 1933 1934 Births .... 49 31 Deaths .... 19 11 Marriages .. 8 11 RETURNS TOP. HASTINGS The Hastings vital statistics for the month of January show a sharp decline in births from 38 to 28 in comparison with the figures for January last year. Deaths in January this year totalled nine ns against 10 in January Inst year, and marriages increased from seven to nine.
